Warrior: Choose Your Fight
I’m opting for peace
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the energy we bring into our daily battles. As I move through this year with more intention and a slower pace, I keep coming back to one specific concept: the Peaceful Warrior.
There’s an analogy I use often. You can be a warrior in the sense of a Shaolin monk or you can be a warrior in the form of a Conor McGregor. Both are highly effective. Both know how to fight. But the energy behind their actions is completely different.
Which type of warrior you choose to be dictates the quality of your presence in the fight.
I’m choosing the path of the monk. A warrior who is centered, quiet, and peaceful, but who can still fuck things up if he chooses to.

Being a peaceful warrior doesn't mean you've lost your edge or your ability to be aggressive when the situation calls for it. It just means you aren't letting your ego make decisions for you. It means you've stripped away the chaos so you can move with clarity.
In business and in life, it’s easy to default to the "McGregor" style. It’s the path of least resistance to be loud and reactive, but that speed usually comes at a cost. When you’re constantly sprinting, you’re prone to making impulsive decisions.
This year, my focus is on that monk-like presence. I want to be intentional with every step. I want to make aligned decisions that aren't fueled by urgency, but by a deeper understanding of what actually deserves my energy.

It takes more strength to stay peaceful in the middle of a reckoning than it does to just start swinging. But being a peaceful warrior allows you the power to be a fighter and the discipline to keep it in check.
So, what kind of warrior are you choosing to be? A peaceful monk or a chaotic McGregor.
I’ve made my decision.
